There is a study in my country where immigrants fear racism less than their white counterparts and it wasn't too close. For me part of left has become a preserve for the very easily offended (mostly by their own vanity). A safe space that can only survive with a clear image of an enemy. Althout old white men is something very similar.
It is far from a cadinal sin to care about racism and getting a bit ahead of yourself, but you have to take care on who you are targeting and in whose name you allegedly advertise changes.
Racism is a lot more complex than pop culture claims it to be. For example the most commonly reported variety of it in the UK is between Indians and Pakistanis... Not that that is much publicised.
