> Chandee therefore was granted permission to stay in the U.S. and work so long as he checked in with immigration authorities periodically. He has not missed a check-in in over 30 years and has not had another criminal incident.
> After Chandee completed his prison sentence, he finished school and became an engineering technician. He worked for the City of Minneapolis for 26 years, became a father, and his son grew up to join the military.
Why would a country be unwelcoming to people like this?
Exactly representative of the single anecdotal examples designed to equate all immigrants to criminally illegal villains. You may have a point if this was the typical example of the kind of people Dumpty is rounding up. But they are pulling people from their immigration hearings. You know, the ones "doing it the right way" they promised wouldn't be rounded up. That is the majority of people being rounded up in Dumpty's domestic immigration attack.
It's literally dehumanization, and because of that and the extreme race views of the people at the top pushing these programs, if we don't have routine video recordings of the camp/prison populations verifying minimal health standards, we should expect some of them to eventually be starved. Not necessarily "deliberately", but all it takes is a bit more overcrowding, a logistical issue, etc. for there to be inadequate food supplies. The staff and management are not going to risk their jobs to really insist on more resources when they are basically being told over and over that these are dangerous criminals or lesser beings.
By their self reporting, people are already dying in ICE custody. Looking a few reports, it a common occurrence is someone starts having a heart attack and EMS does not arrive until hours later:
As usual in American politics the whole immigration issue started reasonable but now we are conflating illegal immigration with other immigration. The left wing now glorifies all immigrants, legal or illegal, and the right wingers increasingly hate all immigrants. And as always, there will be a lot of fighting and no result. And Trump as with almost everything else approaches it in the worst possible way.
It’s really frustrating how incapable of solving issues this country has become.

"He shot two people in the legs and served three years in prison."
Would you expect other countries to put up with people like this?

Thank you for the demonstration.

It looks like ICE is not trying very hard to keep people alive.
