Westlake University’s Guomics Lab, together with the Beijing Institute of Scientific Intelligence, is running the AI Proteomics Competition (AIPC). The first challenge focuses on peptide–spectrum match (PSM) rescoring under strict false discovery control.
The competition is open worldwide, with two tracks (basic ~45M PSMs, advanced ~300M PSMs). Total prize pool: RMB 90,000 (~$13,000 USD). Outstanding participants may also get internship opportunities and access to high-performance computing resources.
Students, early-career researchers, and AI startups are especially encouraged to join. Strong algorithms and innovative ideas matter more than hardware.
DNA is a language, Proteins are language. LLMs seem perfectly suited to make good suggestions (not perfect models!) to limit the near infinite search space, together with human intellect. Idk why you would be against this.
The competition has two tracks: a basic track (~45M PSMs) and an advanced track (~300M PSMs). High-performing teams with limited compute can request extra cloud resources.

Don't empower AI. Really.

Why?
The competition has two tracks: a basic track (~45M PSMs) and an advanced track (~300M PSMs). High-performing teams with limited compute can request extra cloud resources.
