As a resident I would absolutely prefer a nuclear power plant in my backyard versus a data center. At the very least I would have access to electrical power. I can’t say what benefits I would have from the data center.

Quick search online tells me that a nuclear power plant uses as much as 35–65 million gallons...
All of this apart from the actual danger of having a NUCLEAR power plant near home.. The accidents in the past were rare but the ones that existed we still mention them by name with the impact well know.

I personally don't understand the ai hate. I don't remember people hating on the internet this much lol
Where is the AI hate? This is about “in their area”.
I’m sure they don’t want phone towers, phone factories etc in their area too.
I.e. they want the benefits for free.
