We give banks centralized control in exchange for stability and protection. Why are they incapable of rolling back financial fraud like this? If the argument is "it crosses dozens of accounts", the counterargument is that you burn dozens of accounts each transaction.
I think AI is just exposing the incompetency and complacency that has existed for a long time and very smart people should have already come up with a solution to it. This will be especially proven true if there IS a solution in a couple of years (or ideally months).
