I’m building an open-source agentic commerce platform called “the/marketplace.” It’s needs to be opensource because Claude Code and ChatGPT will pick and choose which sellers they show on their chats. Mine works with any platform and you can build custom adapters for stores that use a custom backend.
I’m also building opensource SaaS for every vertical which powers this marketplace.
It’s exactly what I’m building and open-source. I’m also building the underlying platforms for hotels, gyms, grocery stores, etc but you can connect to Shopify, Toast, and existing platforms too.
technically, if you just told claude your credit card number and turned on computer use, then it should be able to buy all of these things, although probably slower than if you just did it yourself
The biggest shift in the economy from AI is going to be who can figure out how to start up the agentic purchasing loop.
Similar to the fact that you didn't need a website to do biz in 1994, but you did need one do more business in 2004.
Most of the efforts so far like x402 I think are missing the point, because it is already super easy for an agent to sign up for a service and make an api key automatically. Capturing & executing business services via api, like perhaps consulting, accounting, event planning, through those entity's specialized agents is the interesting part imo

I can’t wait until I can book flights, hotels, trains, and make dinner reservations through Claude Code.

It’s a decentralized, interoperable marketplace
If only because I won’t have to go through the excessive upselling process for flights.
