You need to be specific. Who is "they"? Everyone involved in the protests or a specific group of people? I'm going to guess it is a minority group that is exploiting the situation among those that actually care about the cause.
It is sad that only French youth takes to the streets. The youth worldwide is being short shrift regarding their future and "Antichrist" Greta Thunberg's actions clearly haven't made much of a dent.
