Of note is that recently, top US undergrads (in physical sciences) are actually going abroad for PhDs. I think at a statistically significant rate but we’ll have to do surveys.
Many newspaper of record stories get written so that their polemics could get cited as the Truth; same is true for why we have so many indices and rankings. (According to ABC think tank, politician Smith is dead last for Freedom, however according to ABC' think tank, he is right at the top for Liberty. How can that be? ABC defines Freedom as low taxes and minimal zoning, ABC' defines Liberty as strong unions and medical subsidies.) It's citation laundering, just a couple steps away from xkcd 978.
Did you notice that climate change completely disappeared as a political talking point in 2026? Times is previewing what the new ones will be; it doesn't matter that the underlying news are old.
I realize this has been happening for a while since the current administration came into power, but for people from other G7 nations, it's kind of nice seeing this happen to the US for once.
agreeing, though to widen the perspective, it's been happening since long before the current administration, or that before it, were in power.
As a concrete example, my amazing professor left for Austria, for an example, from Illinois several years back.
it seems that the unending political battle drama gets tiresome, some people realize that immersed in that bullshit isn't how they want to spend their lives.

I find this impossible to believe. Do you have any sources?
studying where?
I imagine the answers will vary in the same way that different universities within the US had different advantage.
I would guess Canada, EU, UK, Oceania and South East Asia.

The Times is behind a wall again. What has further happened in order to make this news in November? The Dutch press reported this back in July.

I don't think links to paywalled sites should be considered without a mirror. What's the point of discussing something if not everyone can access it?

I’d love to hear why someone shouldn’t migrate when the environment gets hostile to their way of life?
Seems like an obvious move to me.
